Ah, the dreaded Monday. Generally I don’t think Monday’s are that bad, it’s just the getting out of bed early for work in the cold that gets me. Speaking of cold, we spent last weekend out in the desert again and it’s starting to get pretty cold out there– as soon as the sun sets I’m layering in a thermal, t-shirt, sweatshirt, and then my big jacket over it all. Brrr! Speaking of sunsets, I shot this gorgeous photo of the sun setting behind a hill, you can barely make out Barstow road down below.

Friday night I tried a new recipe for Slow Cooked Chipotle Tacos (recipe here). If you’re a taco lover like me, you’ll definitely want to try this one… and don’t skimp on the chipotle peppers, it gives it such a delicious smokey flavor– yum!
Steve came home with a tree on Friday so we spent the evening buying more decorations and lights since I ran out halfway up the tree (oops) and finished decoration. Better pictures of our decorations to come because…
… my new Canon Rebel T3 came! I’m so excited to start using this camera and actually learning HOW to use it. Right now I’m keeping it in auto mode because I have no clue what all the settings mean… yet.
I have been loving the cute shorter hairstyles I’ve been seeing around so I did it! Took off at least 4 inches of hair that I’ve been growing out for the past few years and dyed it a darker brown-auburn shade. It’s definitely a change, but I love it!
