This past week was the LuckyFabb Fashion and Beauty Blog Conference in Los Angeles– Beverly Hills to be exact at the super cool and swanky SLS Hotel.
After a panel on Next Level Tech discussing new innovations in eCommerce and other facets of tech, Lucky EIC Eva Chen sat down with Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso for a chat on starting Nasty Gal and her new book, #GIRLBOSS. “Know your strengths and what you’re not good at… Be honest with yourself,” was Sophia’s advice to bloggers and budding girl bosses.
Word on the street is that Nasty Gal stores are coming to LA… very soon!
Apologies on the horrible photo resolution– I shot this one with my phone, full zoom.
Nicole Richie stopped by for the next Style Conversation talking about her jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, shaving her eyebrows off when she was 11, and gardening in her Chanel fanny pack.
She was more down to Earth and not as vapid as I thought she would be and I did love her outfit– leather leggings and a super pretty floral blazer. Oh, and her hair was lavender! Definitely not a look I could pull off, but on Nicole Richie, it works!
Pressed Juicery provided mini juices to the conference to keep energy levels up– I was excited to try their Chocolate Almond drink…. yum!
After lunch, bloggers attended the breakout sessions– I attended The New Look of Digital, which didn’t focus much on digital at all, however January Jones’ dress was very cute. I also attended an SEO session, which was very informative and I picked up some good tips, as well as a session on working with brands with a marketing rep from 7 For All Mankind and Wendy Nguyen of Wendy’s Lookbook.
I think most bloggers were in agreement about supermodel Coco Rocha, who wrapped up the conference. Not only is she absolutely stunning, her remarks were intelligent, insightful, and funny. When asked about her favorite trends right now, she responded in saying ‘There are two things I don’t believe in: trends and selfies.’ Apparently we won’t see Coco giving a duck-face selfie anytime soon!
On Saturday, Lucky hosted a networking brunch for attendees at the SLS Beverly Hills Hotel outside patio. The weather was gorgeous, the food was SO good and it was great meeting other bloggers and making new friends. While I spaced it on taking a food shot, I managed to capture one of the cute little prosecco bottles we were given, I mixed mine with some OJ for a late morning mimosa 😉
Attendees received super cute Kate Spade Saturday totes filled to the brim (literally, this bag was HEAVY!) of goodies, mostly beauty items which made me a very happy girl!
Here’s all the goodies taken out– post on all of what was inside to come!
Stay tuned, later this week I will be posting my outfits from the conference!
