Happy New Year and welcome 2015! Like many people, at the beginning of the year I like to think about goals I have for the coming year. I try to keep them realistic, do-able and keep them in the back of my mind throughout the year. Some goals are on-going, such as making healthier choices, while others are more to-dos. Looking back at last year’s goals, I feel I did well and accomplished what I wanted, although of course there is always room for improvement. Many of these are goals I will be carrying over to this year. Here’s a look at last year’s goals and new goals for 2015:
2014 Goals
Get a new job- I was so happy to finally get a new job in the industry I wanted to be in with a great company with amazing people. After starting back in March it was clear how much happier and less stressed (not to mention how much less time I spent in traffic!) I was, I now look forward to going to my job and working on projects.
When I took on my new job, I promised myself that I would put more focus on my health. I started taking Pilates and yoga classes and absolutely love them. Pilates is such a fantastic strengthening exercise and I surprised myself by how much I like doing yoga– it keeps me focused and relieves stress. The studio I go to has fantastic instructors and I’ve just felt so much better about myself, my body and health since starting.
I am horrible at drinking water throughout the day so one of my major goals for 2014 was to drink more water. I have been doing good, even cutting back on soda and opting for water instead. I haven’t cut out soda completely, little steps 😛
– At the end of 2013 I purchased my first DSLR, a Canon T3, and had no clue how to use it out of auto mode. I took an online class and learned about different settings and functions. While I’m definitely not a photographer, I like being able to have some confidence in taking it out of auto mode.
– For the last few years I felt that some of my friendships got off track. Everyone gets busy with work, family and just life in general so it can be hard to get together. I made it a priority to connect with friends more, they’re important to have!
2015 Goals
While I love taking Pilates and yoga, I feel that I haven’t been going as much these last few months… okay I’ll be honest I’ve dropped to about once a week. I was going 3 times a week so I hope to continue that and even step it up to 4 or 5 times a week.
Along with drinking more water and cutting out soda completely, I want to drink more tea. I love my morning coffee, usually about a cup a day, but I’d like to replace with tea more often.
One of my big personal goals this year is to save. It can be so hard, especially with a blog with posts that focus on fashion, beauty and shopping, but I want to make it more of a priority.
In terms of the blog, in 2015 I would also like to step up my photography skills and put a focus on more personal blog posts, such as this. I want my readers to get to know me better and I hope that can come across in my blog. My goal is to create more share-worthy content and of course continue the fun with interesting posts, recipes, tutorials, style posts, and better giveaways. I am very much appreciative of my readers and of your support– cheers to an amazing 2015!
