You may already be a fan of butter LONDON‘s gorgeously bold nail lacquers and lip glosses but did you know they now carry an entire line of cosmetics? Their team recently sent me products from their new Shine Out Loud collection for review, which includes products that deliver a “lacquer-like shine with high-fashion colour” (don’t you just love the British spelling of words like ‘colour?’ Fancy!) to create a rock star statement look with bold color. Read more for my review, plus, keep scrolling for a giveaway to win your own Shine Out Loud set! Here’s what I think:
I love a pretty pop of color on my lips and nails for summer and butter LONDON’s nail lacquer in Ladybird ($15) and their new Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon ($20) in the same shade is the perfect, fun red/coral shade to take you all the way through to fall. The shade is a bright tomato red-orange that looks fantastic on both nails and lips. I’ve been a fan of their nail collection for some time, the lacquers apply smoothly and evenly. Thia can be said for the lip crayon as well– it is buttery soft and creamy, applying easily and beautifully, leaving a high-shine finish. It has a long-wear, although I do have to reapply after eating or drinking. It’s the perfect shade for those who aren’t ready to go for a deeper red, in fact I personally prefer this warmer red over a true cooler red. At $20, the price point may be a little steep, however the color payoff is so worth it. Plus, it also has a built-in sharpener in the cap!
When I first pulled the wand out of the mascara tube, I thought ‘WHOA! This looks intense!” The brush tip of the Iconoclast Mega Volume Lacquer Mascara in Brilliant Black ($20) has a rounded ball-tiped end that works perfectly for getting the small inner-corner lashes and bottom lashes. I am a sucker for a good volumizing mascara– one that plumps up my lashes without leaving clumps- and this one definitely delivers the drama.
The WINK Eye Pencil in Union Jack ($18) is definitely earning it’s way into my top eyeliner picks– it is a soft pencil that glides on smoothly, is a high-intensity black, and while it is smudgeable for a smokey eye, has true staying power. The color and formula is so smooth. almost like a liquid, and can be used to create an easy cat-eye look or precise definition. The only con I have with it is that it may be too soft for some and may break easily. So far, I personally haven’t had any problems with breakage when applying or with sharpening.
