One of my all-time favorite beauty trends is the smoky eye. In fact, years and years ago I used to participate in a ‘Smoky Eye Sunday’ challenge in a popular makeup forum. (Um, can we bring this back please??) With my love of smoky-eye looks, I was SO excited to receive* Urban Decay’s newest addition to their popular NAKED collection, the NAKED SMOKY palette!
As with their original NAKED palettes, the smoky palette contains 12 gorgeous smoky neutral shades in mattes, satins, and shimmers to nail the perfect smoky-eye. These rich colored shadows, including a deep black, pretty taupes, bronzes and grays, all have the intense pigmentation UD is known for, are velvety smooth, and have amazing blendability and staying power to boot. If you are already a fan of the NAKED palettes, this one is essential to add to your collection!

Here’s a breakdown of the shades in the palette: High (champagne shimmer micro-glitter), Dirtysweet (medium bronze), Radar (metallic taupe iridescent micro-glitter), Armor (metallic silver-taupe tonal sparkle), Slanted (light metallic gray), Dagger (medium charcoal micro-shimmer), Black Market (jet-black satin), Smolder (deep plum-taupe), Password (cool taupe matte), Whiskey (rich brown matte), Combust (soft pink-taupe), Thirteen (light beige satin).
Today I went for a simple smoky look, wearing a blend of Armor (such a gorgeous shade, one of my favorites in this palette!) and Password over Combust. It”s great for every day, weekend or work– just a tad smoky and sultry without being overdone.
Also included with the palette is a super soft double-ended brush that makes blending and smudging out your sultry smoky look a breeze. I loved that UD also includes a mini lookbook with detailed steps to create four classic smoky eye looks. If you have no idea how to create a smoky eye, this lookbook will become your best friend. The case itself has a pretty grey smoky effect, and the inside has a spot for the brush.
The palette is just $54 and available online now and will be available in stores July 16th at Sephora, ULTA and select Macy’s stores. Get more information on the palette at Urban Decay.
Stay tuned for an upcoming tutorial on how you can get an easy, sultry smoky eye using this palette!
