Between work, family, home projects, events and basically, well, just life in general, sometimes you just need a weekend for yourself to chill out, relax, and treat yourself. Keep reading for a few of my ways to spend ‘me’ time…
When I’ve been working my butt off and have been non-stop busy, I sometimes need to take a moment and remind myself that “hey, you come first and you need to take care of number one”. A few weeks ago I put aside some major “me” time, which helped me feel rejuvenated and relaxed. Here are my top 5 “me” time activities:
– Mani/Pedi: I usually give myself mani and pedis but once in awhile I like to sit back and let someone else do the work. If I’m going to pay for it then I’m definitely opting for the spa pedi with leg massage and the mani with the hot oil treatment. Plus a couple of pretty nail shades!
– Massage and/or Facial: I carry my stress and tension in my neck and shoulders so I absolutely love getting massaged. It doesn’t even need to be a fancy spa massage- an inexpensive one does the job just fine! Likewise, facials are also super relaxing and can help rejuvenate your skin as well.
– Read a Book: If I just want to escape for a few hours I grab a book (or download one to my Kindle app!) and get lost in a fictional world. Not a reader? Start a new series on Netflix and zone out for a few hours– no judgement here!
-Eat Your Favorite Foods: Sometimes you just have to give in to that craving, even if it is a McDonald’s Chicken McNugget meal… hey, no judgement from me, no judgement from you.
-Get Healthy: Or, kickstart your health goals with a healthy treat such as a fresh smoothie from the new juice bar or trying that cleanse you’ve been wanting to try.
