Taking care of my skin has always been a priority for me since I was a teen, yet having combination skin is usually a headache when it comes to skin care. Products formulated for oily skin can be too drying, and products for dry skin can cause oiliness on my T-zone, causing my pores to become larger and more apparent. I recently picked up a new line from Bioré that is specially formulated for combination skin and features a new secret weapon for cleaning pores– baking soda. Both the Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser and Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub are a skin care routine must for anyone with combination skin.
I have never used cleansers or scubs with baking soda before and was intrigued to see how it would work for me and my pores. Here’s how I give my pores a deep clean with my nightime face cleansing ritual using these products:
Next, I apply the Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub, which is different than any other scrub I have ever used and is actually pretty cool! As it is a powder-to-foam formula that starts to foam as you add water. It’s almost like a science experiment when watching it start to foam! Who thought face washing could actually be so fun?
Finally, I pat my face dry with a towel and then apply moisturizer or argan oil to keep my skin hydrated and healthy through the night. There’s nothing better than going to bed with a fresh and clean moisturized face!
After using the cleanser and scrub, my skin, and especially my pores, immediately feels clean and super smooth! After a few days of use, I have noticed my skin looks and feels more balanced overall.
You can find both Bioré products at your local Target store in the facial care aisle– I found them both easily on a shelf at the end of the aisle. The baking soda line is good for those with combination skin, however if you have oily skin, be sure to check out Bioré’s line of charcoal products.
