Chewy on the inside, crispy around the edges. That’s how I like my chocolate chip cookies. Growing up I usually made (or rather helped make) the recipe on the back of the chocolate chip bag (anyone else??) Over the years I’ve tried a few different recipes, some good and some total fails. Then I found the recipe for the best chocolate chip cookies. No joke. These cookies are yummy and just the way I like them- soft and chewy in the center with crispy, crunchy edges. Perfection.
Here’s how to get the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies…
1 cup Butter, softened
1 cup White Sugar
1 cup Brown Sugar
2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 tsp. Baking Soda
2 tsp. Water, hot
1/2 tsp Salt
3 cups All-Purpose Flour
2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (I used ~ 1- 1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips)
Preheat over to 350-degrees F. Using a mixer, blend together butter and sugars until smooth. Add in eggs one at a time and beat until incorporated. Stir in vanilla extract.
Disolve the baking soda into the hot water add add to mixture. Add salt. Stir in flour, followed by the chocolate chips.
Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop onto ungreased baking sheet (I use silicone baking mats on top of my baking sheets– these are the BEST!) and pop into over for 8-10 minutes or until edges are brown. Transfer to cooling racks and enjoy!
