Happy Wednesday, all! Luckily our AC was fixed this past weekend but it’s still SO hot here in SoCal. I’m jealous seeing everyone else in sweaters and cardis, while I’m still trying to keep cool. One of the ways I keep cool is by making a yummy smoothie and for the past couple months, this vegan green smoothie has been my go-to breakfast. It’s easy to make, filling and good for you– packed full of protein and beauty beneficial ingredients. In fact, it’s so good, it tastes more like a dessert than a healthy drink.
Spinach, the main ingredient, is a good source of protein, vitamins A, C, and E, as well as calcium and iron. Not only is spinach healthy for you but it has beauty benefits as well– keeping your skin clear and hydrated and promotes hair growth. I find that the spinach helps to give me more energy to power through my morning as well.
I also like to add cardamom to the smoothie, a spice that that helps aid in digestion, along with cinnamon, which also aids in digestion and helps to enhance your complexion as well. You might be thinking, “spinach and cinnamon, really?” but spinach actually pairs well with warmer spices and you can’t even taste the spinach.
This green smoothie is delicious as breakfast, a meal replacement, a healthy dessert option or for a post-workout snack.

This looks delicious! I will have to try it one day. I like that it wouldn’t taste like a kale smoothie. I think the almond milk and cashews and agave help!
