My Beauty Secret to All Over Radiance

All Over Radiance with Aveeno and OGX at Rite Aid

Between my classes at FIDM and working for a makeup brand that puts an emphasis on ingredients and creating products for sensitive skin, I’ve become a lot more aware of what’s in the formula’s of most beauty products. Many people believe that the higher the price tag, especially when it comes to hair and skin care, the better a product will work. Wrong! You don’t need to spend a million to look like a million and can find comparable products at your local corner drugstore like Rite Aid. Two of my favorite drugstore beauty brands, Aveeno and OGX, are perfect examples of getting a bang (a beauty bang!) for your buck.

Continue reading to discover my beauty secrets from these brands and the products I use to get an all-over radiant look from head-to-toe.

Aveeno Lotions and Cleansers at Rite Aid
Having dry skin, I’m fairly picky when it comes to lotion. I want one that hydrates, lasts all day, leaves my skin feeling smooth and most important of all- is non-greasy. AVEENO Daily Moisturizing Lotion has it all and is one of been reaching towards for years. It leaves my skin feeling moisturized the entire day– no joke, I will apply it in the morning and my skin will STILL feel moisturized come bed time, no reapplication needed!

The body lotion includes natural oatmeal, which helps to protect the skin and provide relief from dryness. It’s a good lotion to keep handy and is one of those classic skin care products that should always be part of your daily moisturizing routine.

Radiant Skin with Aveeno at Rite Aid

Having skin that’s on the dry side, it’s often sensitive to different cleansers I use. Lately I’ve been using the AVEENO Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser, which is a gentle no-soap, fragrance-free facial cleanser that won’t irritate skin and is under $10. It contains a natural ingredient called Feverfew, which is related to Chamomile, to help soothe the skin and reduce any sort of redness and irritation. When I use some cleansers, my cheeks will turn red but I don’t experience that with this cleanser– it’s super gentle, yet still gets the cleansing job done.

I can use this cleanser day and night, it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft and typically use this cleanser in the morning as my first step to a radiant, fresh-faced look.

After cleansing, I then apply the AVEENO Positively Radiant Targeted Tone Corrector to my cheeks and around my face to help even my skin tone. I don’t really have dark spots yet, but I do like to have a nice even complexion and am hoping this will help with that… plus I love any extra help in getting radiant, glowing skin. The corrector features a Total Soy Complex and Vitamin A to brighten and even out skin.

This product is on the pricier side but is still under $20, which is a steal compared to similar products that cost upwards of $50. I’ve only been using it for a few days so I’m not sure yet on the long-term effects but so far so good. I apply it both in the morning and at night after washing my face and I love that it gives my skin an extra dose of hydration and a radiant boost.

OGX Coconut Oil at Rite Aid

Not only do I suffer from dry skin, but my hair will sometimes look dry and damaged as well, especially from heat styling. For years I have used products from OGX– shampoo, conditioner, pre-stylers and more– they are one of my favorite drugstore hair care brands. OGX uses exotic ingredients in their products that  One of the products that has been helping to keep my hair looking hydrated and healthy is the OGX Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist, which I picked up for about $6.

This hair mist contains real coconut oil and bamboo extract to help nourish and strengthen hair so that it looks smooth, has a healthy shine without looking greasy. I like to spritz on my hand and then run through the ends of my hair, which are most dry and use any excess to smooth down strays and flyaways. Plus, the mist has a nice, tropical coconut scent that takes me back to those piña colada sippin’ summer days and makes my hair smell amazing!

OGX Coconut Oil Hydrating Hair Mist for Sleek, Shiny Hair

When purchasing these products, I made sure to use my Plenti card. With Rite Aid’s Plenti Points program, you can earn points for purchases at select retailers including Rite Aid and can use those points on future purchases– who doesn’t love a good savings?? Psst… throughout the month of October, if you spend $20 on Aveeno and OGX, you can score 800 Plenti Points. That’s $8 back in points!

Have you tried any of these products from Aveeno or OGX? Let me know what you love from these brands!

Hi Amanda – great tips! I also have dry skin and am always looking for beauty products that won’t dry my skin out. I can’t wait to try the AVEENO Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser. Thanks for the recommendation!

Love this post! I love OGX hair products so much. I switched from those products to Pureology at the advice of my hair stylist but I still go back to OGX every once in a while to prevent buildup. It’s such an affordable brand for the quality, and it SMELLS SO GOOD.
