I’m one of those people that believe it’s essential to take some time out for ourselves and indulge in a little pampering, even if it’s just a relaxing bubble bath or a quick face mask. It helps refresh the mind, reduces stress and replenishes the soul. Last year I tried Perfectly Posh and fell in love with the naturally-based, US made products and decided to sign up as a rep so I could share my pampering experiences and favorites with my readers and friends. Each season, Posh releases a collection of new products. Here’s what I’ve been trying out lately from Perfectly Posh, including a couple of limited edition Halloween (read: PUMPKIN) themed products>>
Bring On the Bubbly Lip Scrub, $14
If I don’t use scrubs or balms regularly, my lips look dry and chapped. No bueno. Lately I’ve been using this sugar-based scrub to gently exfoliate my lips and remove any dead skin and rough patches. Not only does it exfoliate, the shea butter, cocoa butter, and sweet almond oil work to smooth and hydrate my lips as well. Plus, it has an amazing champagne and ginger flavor! In fact, I’m loving it so much that the Bring on the Bubbly Lip Oil is about to be added to my next order for an extra dose of lip hydration. If you love the champs, you will LOVE this lip scrub.
Posh Boss Big Fat Yummy Hand Creme, $9
I’m already a huge fan of Perfectly Posh’s Big Fat Yummy Hand Crèmes– I keep one in my bag, in my bathroom and even one on my desk at work. Posh Boss is a newly released scent and has quickly become one of my favorites; it has a soft feminine floral scent that pairs SO perfectly with my fragrances (I usually wear Miss Dior, Flowerbomb and similar type scents)– a mix of creamy vanilla, sweet cassis and peony. I love that this hand cream includes quick-absorbing ingredients like apricot kernel and coconut oils, plus vitamin E, and aloe vera to leave my hands feeling soft and moisturized without that icky greasy feeling. I’m super picky on my hand creams and have been so impressed with Perfectly Posh’s BFY creams. Win!
Milking It Chunk Big Bath Bar, $9
I actually haven’t tried this bath bar yet, but when I had read the description and knew I had to though! This coconut-derived cleansing bar is formulated specifically for sensitive skin and includes a blend of goat’s milk to soften skin, honey, which acts as a humectant to lock in moisture, and calming oats to help soothe skin. These Chunk bars are HUGE compared to normal bars of soap and will last several months. I had opened another Chunk bar at the beginning of summer and it’s still going strong, even with daily use! It has a soft sweet scent, described as “a swirl of sweet milk and citrus” which is pretty spot on. Looking forward to trying this Chunk out!
All A Blur Firming, Perfecting Body Crème, $19
While I don’t think my skin is at the point where it needs firming products, I figured it’s never too early to start. This body crème is designed to blur imperfections by smoothing with ingredients such as shea butter for hydration, caffeine to firm the skin, and brightening licorice extract, for a more even looking skin tone. The body crème also includes shimmery mica that refract light to help skin appear more youthful looking and to give a pretty glow. I find that it looks really pretty on when I have a bit of a tan and if it helps firm up the skin I’m fine with that.
This body crème in on the pricey side and I can’t really attest to the firming claims, but it does look nice on the skin and has a nice, subtle nectarine and ginger scent that I love as well.
Look Natural Whole Lava Love Volcanic Ash Exfoliator, $19
I picked this one up because the description sounded pretty cool– it’s an exfoliator made of volcanic ash, charcoal powder and naturally-derived scrubby beads to exfoliate and refresh skin. The exfoliator also includes tea tree oil to help tone skin and is scented with mint essential oils. The entire Look Natural collection is vegan and includes good-for-you ingredients– such as the eco-friendly scrubbing beads.
I’ve used it a couple times and it was okay but not super amazing. It is on the more aggressive side as far as face scrubs are concerned, but it did leave my skin feeling soft. For me, it’s a take it or leave it product, one I would use but am not super crazy about.
Look Natural Prize on the Eyes Eye Crème, $18
One of the products I AM pretty crazy about is this eye crème! It’s super gentle and includes ultra-moisturizing sunflower oil and shea butter, with CoQ10 to help skin appear more elastic and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It also includes niacinamide, which is used to reduce the appearance of aging skin for a more even-looking texture. Cucumber and licorice work to calm and brighten the appearance of any dark, puffy areas. Yes! I’ve been on the hunt for a good eye cream and this one leaves my delicate eye area feeling moisturized, decreases any puffiness and gives it a fresh, awake feeling.
Unfortunately this eye crème is currently out of stock, but is expected to be available early November.
Each year, Perfectly Posh launches a few select seasonal items with fun Halloween themes, commonly referred to in the Posh community as Spooky Posh. Here’s a look at the two limited edition Spooky Posh items that recently launched:
Boo Yeah Triple Pumpkin and Clay Facial Cleanser, $19
I wanted to love this facial cleanser, I really did. It’s packed with triple the pumpkin– an ingredient that is really good for skin– including pumpkin water, pumpkin extract and pumpkin seed oil, all which help to keep skin hydrated and even out the complexion. It also includes kaolin clay, a gentle clay to detoxify the skin. Unfortunately, even with its super ingredients, I find that this cleanser falls short. My skin doesn’t feel clean after using it (it does not remove makeup) and I am not loving cranberry scent, which smells reminiscent of children’s cold medicine. I do find that it leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth but I just can’t give this cleanser the thumbs up. I think it has a great ingredient story though and hope the company will rework the formula so that it cleanses better… and give it a better scent.
Carved For Attention Pumpkin Body Butter $22
I am, however, all over this pumpkin body butter! This luxurious and creamy body butter is made with pumpkin seed extract, apricot kernel oil, and hazelnut oil that moisturize skin without leaving it greasy (yay!). With a yummy warm hazelnut and cinnamon scent, this body butter gets me in the fall mood every time I apply it. Warning, it smells so tasty that your man might want to eat you up!
Both of these products are limited edition and are only available for a limited time. Are you pumpkin obsessed? I highly recommend grabbing this body butter NOW! I’ve never used products from this brand! Everything looks amazing.. The eye creme definitely sounds like a winner. Bummer that it’s out of stock until November – obviously that means it’s a hot item! I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on it.
Let me know if you try it out, I’d love to hear what you think!
I’ve never actually heard of this brand before but they sound great! It’s funny cause when I saw the heading for the pumpkin cleanser I was like “oh that sounds great!” and then I read your review and it wasn’t, which is a bummer! That’s really strange that they would make it scented like cranberry… why not just leave it as pumpkin if anything?! Haha. The pumpkin body butter sounds great though!
The scent was so disappointing! I really do hope they re-work it, the idea of it and ingredients in it are fantastic.
