For me, my makeup look just isn’t complete without mascara to help open my eyes and make my lashes standout. Not all mascaras are created equal though and there’s so many formulas that it can be overwhelming trying them all and hopefully finding The One that looks and wears the best. You don’t need to spend a lot to find a good mascara, there’s plenty of great options at your local drugstore. Keep reading to find out what my must-have drugstore mascaras are>>
1. Full & Soft
I tend to reach for mascaras that are volumizing and leave my lashes looking full but still have a soft effect. The Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara does just that. I’ll typically apply two coats and it won’t clump my lashes (yay!) and actually gives them nice separation and definition. While the formula is a bit more on the ‘wet’ side than what I typically like (it has coconut extract!), it makes my lashes look great so it’s a winner for me.
2. Everyday Go-To
The Physicians Formula Killer Curves Mascara is one of those good, everyday grab-n-go mascaras that leave lashes looking natural, yet polished. I don’t normally use curling mascaras but I have to say, this one has made me a fan. This mascara keeps my lashes curled all day while also adding volume as well. It has a cool hourglass-shaped brush that helps add volume and makes it easy to coat every lash. The end result leaves my lashes looking defined, full and curled… but still natural, not that ‘too-much’ / falsie lash look. If that makes sense. The formula is infused with peptides and provitamin B5 to help nourish lashes as well, which is awesome. I love a product that has good-for-you benefits!
3. Glam It Up
Truth time: I really wanted to hate L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara because I’m a fan of Too Faced’s Better Than Sex, which is the mascara that this one is super similar to. Fortunately for this mascara, I’ve been really impressed with it and it’s made my best of list. The formula is ultra black and adds mega volume to my lashes– in fact, so much so that I tend to wear it when I’m going out or if I really want standout lashes. The only con I have with this one is that the formula can be clumpy and thick when coming out of the tube.
I like to have different mascaras for different looks and each of these is perfect, depending on the look I’m going for. All of these are under $12, which is awesome if you’re not looking to spend a lot. Have you tried any of these? What are your favorite drugstore mascaras? Share!
