Beauty Favorites: January

Current beauty favorites | A Good Hue

Ladies problems… they are the absolute worst aren’t they? Super Bowl Sunday started out good—went out to my parents to “watch” the game (let’s be real, I’m no football fan), I made a killer banana pudding (click for recipe, it truly is the best ever), took some outfit pics and got teared up watching the special showing of This Is Us. That night I was hit with the most massive painful cramps ever that kept me up the entire night. Thanks body.

Hopefully you all had a better start to the week than I did! I love to round up my most loved beauty favorites from the month. These are products that I found myself constantly reaching for and that I think deserve a shining star. I’ve been digging minimal makeup looks so most of my picks this month are body and skin care based, but definitely must-haves in your beauty routine.  Bath & Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soap

I always stock up on these Bath & Body Works Hand Soaps around the holidays when they go on sale—they’re great for gifts and of course to use around the house… I pretty much have one at every sink. For January, I thought the Pop! Fizz Clink! Would be perfect to start out the new year and love the light scent blend of sparkling citrus, golden sandalwood, & bergamot. Unfortunately, this particular scent is no longer available, but they have SO many others to choose from, you really can’t go wrong.

PS- Right now B&BW is offering $10 off $30 purchase… get on this!

Perfectly Posh Good Goddess Rose Gold Body Crème

Did I just say rose gold body crème? I did, I did! I’m a sucker for all things rose gold, blush and pink so when I came across this lotion, I knew I had to try it out and it easily became one of my beauty favorites. It’s an intensely moisturizing non-greasy body lotion with apricot oil, sunflower oil, aloe vera and black currant to keep skin soft and hydrated. It has these micro flecks of mica that catch the light giving skin a slight luminosity—it’s not shimmery at all and really just gives skin this perfect glow. So, SO pretty!

Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum

More rose? Of course! Another beauty favorite I have been obsessed with this past month is the Physicians Formula Rosé All Day Oil-Free Serum. This just-released serum is formulated with rose water to help calm skin and redness, kakadu plum extract to brighten and is chock-full of good-for-skin antioxidants and vitamins. I’ve been applying this serum after washing my face prior to putting on moisturizer to help give it some (much-needed) hydration. What’s really cool is that the formula first appears milky white, but turns a super pretty pearluminous pink once rubbed in to give skin a pretty boost of radiance. True, I may be a bit biased since I work with the brand, but I received so many compliments on my skin these past few weeks and I have to give credit to this guy here. Plus, it’s under $15—such a good budget skin care buy!

Foreo LUNA Play

My new Foreo LUNA Play actually came in a travel set with a cute mini Issa toothbrush—it was one of those products I didn’t know I needed until I actually used it. This mini facial cleansing device is battery operated and softly vibrates as you gently sweep it across skin to exfoliate and deep clean skin. I love that it has two different non-abrasive silicone bristles—a thicker bristle to deep clean and a thinner bristles that gently channel the device’s pulsations. If you have sensitive skin and found that non-silicone bristles aggravate your skin, this would be a great device for you. The device is waterproof and the size is perfect. It’s small, but totally gets the job done and is easy to travel with since it doesn’t take up much space. Oh, and the price (under $40) is amazeballs. Does anyone even say amazeballs anymore??

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint

Since my skin has been so dry this season, I’ve been keeping my makeup minimal and opting to use Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint over a heavy foundation. This skin tint is basically a moisturizer with a super slight, barely-there tint. It’s extremely lightweight, blends in easily and helps even out my skin tone while keeping skin moisturized. I love that my skin looks super dewy and hydrated!

Glossier Haloscope

Another love from Glossier is Haloscope in Quartz, a gorgeous pearlescent highlighting stick with a dewy finish. Although I’ve been keeping my makeup minimal this season, I still want skin to look fresh and glowy and I love the effect this gives. Haloscope is enriched with vitamin E and is infused with real rose quartz crystals… um, kind of awesome, right? It glides on easily—I just apply to highpoints of my face and I’m good to glow. LOVE!

So there you have it, my beauty favorites from January. What are you loving this month? Are you on a minimal makeup kick too?
