Happy March all! It’s crazy that it’s already time to share my beauty favorites from the past month. February, while not crazy busy, was an exciting month. If you missed it, I announced our engagement here. As I get more into planning and talking about wedding stuff, I’ll share our engagement story. Warning: It is THE WORST ever.
Here are the beauty products I’ve been loving this past month:
This set of blending sponges was recently launched by my blogging homegirl Torey over at Beauty and Beatitudes. Since I started using them, makeup blending sponges have totally changed my makeup game— my face makeup blends in a whole lot easier and looks so natural. The Perfect Blending Duo is made from quality material, has an easy-to-use teardrop shape and I love the fact that you get two sizes– a regular size for blending out foundation over the face and a mini to get into smaller crevices such as under the eyes and around the nose. You can get the set for just $12 here.
Seriously all, the Milk Makeup Hero Salve has become my hero this past month. It’s been no secret that I have dry skin and dry lips and this been a lifesaver when hydrating both my skin and lips. I like to apply this to my hands and cuticles, my fingers have been especially dry lately even with constant use of hand cream, and this cuts through the dryness. It has shea butter and jojoba, grape seed, orange peel, and lavender oils to offer up some serious hydration. I had initially purchased the travel size so I could try it out and I’ll definitely be upgrading to the full size version.
TBH I’m not much of a full-foundation wearer and usually prefer lighter face products such as tinted moisturizers and CC/ BB creams. I am loving Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation which actually feels very lightweight to wear but packs a decent amount of coverage. Since I have drier skin, foundations tend to look crackly on me so this month I’ve been applying it over the Rose All Day Oil-Free Serum I shared last month and a couple drops of Illuminating Argan Oil. The result is FLAWLESS– I received SO many compliments on my glowing skin because of this routine. Definitely two thumbs up from me!
For the past couple of years I’ve been a sucker for a good liquid lipstick. This month I received the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip lipsticks to try out. While I can’t say that it’s my absolute favorite liquid lipstick formula, it is one of the best that I’ve tried and the colors are SO pretty! I’ve found myself reaching for Pastel Pretty all month long– such a pretty soft, dusty rose shade. I’m loving that the entire collection is made up of pretty nude and rose-hued shades… right up my alley! The wear on these is long-lasting, I usually only need to touch-up after I’ve eaten, and they feel comfortable to wear– not super drying so you get that gross, cracking look that happens with a lot of matte lips.
The thing with matte lipsticks however is that they certainly don’t look good on dry, cracked and chapped lips. I’ve been using my Physicians Formula Organic Wear Organic Rose Oil Lip Polish which has organic coconut and rose oils to moisturize lips, organic raw sugar to exfoliate and organic shea butter to smooth lips. I love that not only does it scrub away dead, dry skin, it leaves my lips feeling soft, smooth and hydrated. Plus it smells like a sweet treat!
Stay tuned, this month I have some exciting skincare posts, new outfits, recipes, giveaways and more planned! Which type of posts are your favorite to read here on A Good Hue?
