Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Foundation Review

Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Foundation Review | A Good Hue

I’ll admit it, I’m picky with a lot of things. My food. My shoes. My foundation. Especially my foundation. I honestly haven’t met a lot that I LOVE. They’re either too cakey, too drying, smell weird (c’mon, we’ve all tried those funky smelling foundations!). So when I find a foundation I like, I want to shout it out to the world… or at least to those of you who read my blog. I received the shade Light Y210, a light shade with yellow undertones which was the perfect match for me. I tend to stick to neutral undertones but I actually like how this adds more warmth to my skin. The Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Foundation has a thin, even consistency and blended onto my skin nicely and evenly. I had first applied a moisturizer to skin, and used a blending sponge to apply and blend the foundation.

My skin is on the drier side and I don’t typically wear primer, although if you have oily skin or want a more smoother finish you may want to wear a primer.  The coverage is light-medium– it definitely provides more coverage than a tinted moisturizer but not as much as a full-coverage foundation– which is perfect for me because I don’t need anything too heavy. I find that the foundation covers up any redness I have but still lets my natural skin peek through.

Even though it has decent coverage, the formula doesn’t feel heavy at all. In fact, it’s basically weightless and doesn’t feel like you’re wearing foundation at all… right up my alley! The foundation lasts all day and may just need a quick powder touch-up midday if you have oily skin. It’s said to have a self-setting finish and it did set quickly, but I still use a light touch of powder over it to set, however I don’t need to apply much.

Above is an image sans makeup (ahh!) and a pic wearing just the foundation. My complexion definitely looks more even and brighter– the yellow undertone in the shade really helps to bring more ‘life’ to my skin as well– and any redness is covered.

The Shameless Foundation formula is oil-free and contains SPF 25. With the weather heating up and more time being spent outdoors, it’s important to protect skin so I always welcome any products with SPF. According to the product description, the SPF is “visibly undetectable so there is no flashback or ashy undertones.” Some other neat ingredients in the formula include snow mushroom, known as nature’s hyaluronic acid and known for it’s hydrating properties– which in turn plumps skin; and blue daisy extract to brighten skin.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Foundation Review | A Good HueOverall, I am very impressed with the finish, blendability, coverage and the fact that it has SPF! It is definitely a foundation I would highly consider picking up when I run out. At $46 a bottle, it is on the pricier side and may be a splurge for some of you but I think it’s worth it.
