Having a blog definitely has an upside– companies will often send me new products to try in hopes that I will feature them on A Good Hue. If I like them, I’m more than happy to share them with you, my readers. If I don’t like them, you will not see them recommended here. One such line showed up on my doorstep several weeks ago and I’m super excited to share it with you all–Botanics, a UK plant-based natural skincare brand from Boots.
I’ve been testing more and more beauty products natural-based ingredients and this line has definitely caught my attention. Keep reading to learn more about Botanics, along with some of my top product picks from this natural skincare line.
With all the royal wedding buzz, I thought it was only fitting to feature a UK beauty brand this week. Botanics is even partnered with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew based in England where Botanics’ scientists work with Kew botanists to find effective plant extracts for skincare products and truly harnessing the power of plants. Pretty cool, right?
The 411 on Botanics
After receiving the products and initially trying them out, I wanted to learn more about the brand and the ingredients Botanics uses in their products. So what exactly sets Botanics apart from other skincare brands? Here’s an inside look:
-
Products contain naturally-based ingredients and botanical extracts such as rosehip, hibiscus, ginkgo, purple orchid and more
-
Most products are vegan, however some do contain beeswax, an animal derived ingredient.
-
Some products are 100% organic, most are not but Botanics does use naturally-based and/or organic ingredients in their products
-
All products are paraben-free and phthalate-free
-
Good products at good prices: The line is incredibly affordable, ranging from $5-$16
What I’m Loving
Organic All the Way!
100% Organic Toning Spritz: I was always THAT girl who never saw a need for a toner, however there are now two skin toning products that top my skincare list, this being one of them. From the first moment I sprayed this organic rosewater spritz, I was hooked! I love spraying this onto my face after cleansing– the rosewater helps to calm my skin and gives it a nice fresh feeling. After spraying this on, I will then apply moisturizer, a serum or facial oil.
100% Organic Nourishing Facial Oil: You all know I love a good facial oil and lately, this is the one I’ve been using at night. This oil is 100% certified organic and contains a blend of rosehip oil (high in Omegas and vitamin A!), argan oil and almond oil to hydrate skin. It has a soft, natural citrus scent which I love. I’ve been applying it at night and it leaves my skin feeling super smooth and soft– I’ve even noticed that my forehead lines are less apparent since I’ve been using this.
93% Organic Hydrating Super Balm: This balm features a blend of rosehip oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil and jojoba oil to serve up some serious hydration. This balm can be applied to lips, elbows, hands, cuticles– basically anywhere that needs some extra moisturization and is great for those with drier skin. I like that it hydrates without getting that super greasy feeling!
All Day, All Bright!
All Bright Eye Roll-On: As I get older, I’ve been trying to be better about incorporating eye creams into my skincare routine. I don’t typically get puffy eyes or bad dark circles, but I do like making sure that area is moisturized. For the past couple of weeks I have been using this roll-on gel, which contains a natural hibiscus extract. It feels very nice and moisturizing under my eyes, but I can’t definitively say it’s done anything for puffiness or dark circles.
All Bright Facial Cleansing Wipes: TBH most nights I use a wipe to remove my makeup, maybe adding in a touch of micellar water, such as the All Bright 3-in-1 Cleansing Micellar Water, to achieve a deeper clean. I love that these wipes are infused with hibiscus extract to help brighten skin and they smell lovely as well. If you are looking for more natural skincare, these may be a good option for you. While I have used better wipes, these do get the cleansing job done.
I recommend trying Botanics f you’re on the hunt for a quality natural skincare line at drugstore prices. You can find Botanics at Target or shop my favorite picks and more directly from my post below. Do these sound like products you would use? Let me know in the comments below!
