Happy almost Cinco de Mayo! Here in Los Angeles Cinco de Mayo is a popular day– there’s events, good Mexican food and pretty much everyone is sippin’ on a margarita. To celebrate, I wanted to share a yummy margarita that I concocted. Lately I’ve been super into LaCroix Sparkling Water (not sponsored, I am seriously just obsessed with it… anyone else??) and was thinking about how yummy it would be in a drink and thus, my Spicy Fizzy Skinny Margarita was born. Spicy Fizzy Skinny Margarita
Ingredients:
2 oz. Tequila (I prefer silver
1 oz. Lime Juice (freshly squeezed)
1 oz. Orange Juice (freshly squeezed- this Citrus Orange Margarita is amazing as well!)
2 oz. Flavored Sparkling Water (I prefer LaCroix Sparkling Water Grapefruit, Lime or Lemon flavors)
1 Jalapeño, sliced
Margarita Salt
Tajin Seasoning
Lime Wedges
Ice
Directions:
In a shaker, combine tequila and 3-4 jalapeño slices (or more if you like it spicy!). Let tequila sit for a minimum of 15 minutes to let the jalapeños infuse into the drink mixture.
Pour margarita salt onto a small plate and add several shakes of Tajin or chili seasoning and mix together. Run a lime wedge around the perimeter of the glass to moisten, then dip rim of glass into salt mixture.
Add the lime and orange juices, along with ice and shake to mix.
Add crushed ice to the glass and strain tequila juice mixture into glass. Top with LaCroix Sparkling Water and add lime wedges and jalapeño slices to garnish. Best served with chips and salsa. Salud!
Notes:
For a more flavorful drink, add slices of an entire jalapeño to a bottle of tequila and allow to infuse overnight… or longer.

I cannot say that I will try this since I’m underage, however, I will be sending this over to my mom because I know she has some summer parties coming up 🙂
