I was one of those who was fortunate enough to make it through my teen years without dreaded acne. Sure, I’d get a zit here and there but unlike many of my peers, for the most part my skin was clear. It wasn’t until my mid twenties when I started having an issue with breakouts, mainly on my chin. In fact, it took me years and trying countless acne products in an attempt to get rid of it.
Once I developed a good skin routine, started drinking more water and took better care of my skin, the breakouts ceased. Keep reading to see how I’ve incorporated Clarisonic into my summer skincare routine and how I keep my skin clear>>
Having a good, solid daily skincare routine has been a game changer for my skin. If you don’t already have a routine, now is the time to start. For me, my skincare routine consists of cleansing, toning and moisturizing. I have normal dry skin so having clean, ultra-moisturized skin is a must for me.
Every couple of days, I’ll use the Clarisonic Pore & Blemish Gel Cleanser with my Mia device. This cleanser has 2% salicylic acid, which removes the debris from pores that causes acne. Since my skin is on the sensitive side, I can only use it at most twice a week. When I do use it, my skin feels intensely clean! It’s especially great on my chin area which is where I sometimes get breakouts– keeping the zits at bay and my pores tight. While my skin is on the drier side, I think this cleanser would be great for those with oilier skin who experiences breakouts.
The cleanser works perfectly with my Mia 1 facial cleansing device. The Mia 1 has one speed, just simply press the button and you’re good to go. The brush uses sonic pulses to cleanse the skin, removing makeup and debris. The spinning acne cleansing brush head is gentle and great for sensitive skin like mine. The brush leaves my skin feeling incredibly clean, soft and more vibrant looking.
After cleansing my skin, I use a hydrating toner to help hydrate my skin which often becomes dry after cleansing. I will then apply moisturizer to hydrate my skin even more. During the dry winter months I typically wear a thick, heavy moisturizer but in the summer I opt for a lighter cream. Currently I’ve been using this rosewater moisturizer, which is super lightweight but super hydrating, which my skin needs.
I have also been using this eye cream under my eye area and a vitamin C stick (um, so cool, right??) to help brighten my skin, add some extra moisture and protect with SPF 30.
This routine has been keeping my skin clean, clear, bright and hydrated! I love that the Mia 1 cleansing brush is able to give my skin a super clean feeling… I don’t think I’ll be able to go back to just using my hands.
