I have a lot of makeup you guys. Like, a lot a lot. Since sitting at my vanity every morning and doing my makeup is one of my most favorite parts of my day, I like to have everything fairly organized so it’s easy to grab and use. Today I’m sharing a peek into how I keep all my makeup and beauty products, such as nail polishes, organized.

When we moved into the house we live in now, I wanted to get all new office furniture since I use it as my office, vanity (I get amazing natural light coming in!) & makeup storage room, second closet and photo studio. I love the look of white furniture so I picked up a Parsons-style desk for under $50. It’s very simple and basic, but it does have a drawer where I can stash beauty tools and palettes.
Here’s how I organize all my products on and around my desk>>
1. Showcase Makeup with Acrylic Organizers
I use a couple different acrylic organizers that I purchased from Amazon to hold some of my products– usually makeup that I tend to use most often, ones I want to display and all my liquids (foundations, tinted moisturizers, moisturizing creams, oils, etc.). Amazon has a ton of different organizer options and different sizes to suit your needs. I especially like the top one that has a mix of drawers, different sized slots and lipstick holders.
2. Use a Brush Holder for Makeup Brushes
For my makeup brushes, I keep most in a brush holder I picked up at Marshalls. I keep my eyeshadow brushes on one side of the holder and face brushes on the other. Marshalls actually has some really great (and budget-friendly!) options when it comes to makeup organization!
3. Keep Nail Polishes in a Train Case
I used to keep all my nail polishes in one of the drawers, but now keep them in my new Joligrace train case (c/o). I love that the upper portion has padded slots specifically for my nail polish bottles– I keep all my rounded bottles up top. The polish colors can easily be seen and I can grab out whatever color I need. The padding is great for taking the case on the go or for nail artists as it keeps the bottles from clinking together.
The case also has a drawer that slides out where I keep my Essie bottles along with my top and base polishes. If I didn’t have so many nail polish bottles I would totally put all my nail tools, such as files, cuticle trimmers, etc. in the drawer. I’m debating taking the padding out on top (it’s removable!) so I can add more polishes on top and use this drawer for tools.
I keep all the rest of my polishes in the bottom compartments of the case… I told you I had a lot of nail polishes! You can snag a Joligrace makeup/ nail polish case of your own (they have tons of different options!), be sure to use code JG10 for $10 off your order!
4. Use Drawers for Storage
The Alex Drawers from IKEA are the best ever. I keep most of my makeup in this storage unit and I love how clean and modern it looks. The top drawer contains most of my lip products, the second drawer is home to my palettes and the third drawer contains eye products, powders, bronzers, highlighters and concealers. I separated each of these into containers inside the drawer to keep everything orderly. The bottom two drawers are for extras and misc beauty items. IKEA has different sizes of Alex Drawer storage units available so you can mix and match depending on your needs. These are definitely the way to go for your makeup organization needs!
