In order to get a perfect makeup application, good lighting is key. One of my peeves is trying to do my makeup in bad or harsh lighting. If I can, I always try to do my makeup in natural daylight so I can see my true complexion, however that’s not always an option. I can’t tell you enough how many times I’ve stayed in hotel rooms with the worst lighting for makeup application. It usually leads to poor blending, colors looking funky, my makeup looking way too harsh and other mistakes.
