A Bridesmaid Proposal and Afternoon Tea

They said yes! This past weekend I hosted an afternoon tea for my bridal party, complete with personalized bridesmaid gift boxes I put together myself.  I had so much fun planning this event and putting these proposal gifts together… and my girlfriends loved it!

The afternoon tea took place at Morning Lavender, a local cafe and clothing boutique in Orange County. They offer an assortment of different teas (I had the Earl Grey lavender, which was super yummy), and light bites. 

I gathered all my best girlfriends– Jacki, Celina, Brenda and Jennette– along with my sister (and now matron of honor!), Melissa. Each gal was presented with a custom gift box filled with celebratory goodies and a special tote bag. 

In each box (I used plain white photo boxes filled with pretty floral tissue paper) I included a champagne glass– I found 4-packs of unbreakable Nicole Miller ‘Cheers’ stemless champagne flutes at Marshalls for under $10. I had also found the ‘Bridesmaid’ totes at Marshalls and the ‘Maid of Honor’ tote at Target in the dollar section.

Each box also had a can of Jacqueline Leonne rosé, a can cooler (or a bottle of soda for my pregnant sisiter!), bottle of nail polish and a face mask.

How pretty are these handmade can coolers? I had these custom made from The Dainty Studio on Etsy. I chose a dusty rose color with rose gold script, which fits in with my wedding style. Each can cooler comes with a white cardboard insert stamped with ‘Will you be my…” proposal question. I loved working with this shop on this order—  they have so many customizable options so you can find the perfect can coolers for your wedding or event needs. You can even customize them further by adding your bridesmaids’ name on the back! They were super easy to order and shipped quickly.

To make the boxes extra special, I also had custom bridesmaid cards made for each of the ladies, another Etsy find from Pixelcouture Designs. I absolutely love how these cards came out, they are gorgeous and such a special addition for these special ladies. I wanted cards that were pretty and elegant and these fit the bill perfectly!

These bridesmaid cards can be customized with your bridesmaids’ name in pretty metallic fonts and a variety of envelope colors to fit your theme. Each notecard is blank on the inside so you can write a handwritten note. This shop was a joy to work with and the prices on the cards is so reasonable… I highly recommend to make your bridesmaid proposal boxes extra special! 

We had such a fun time chatting, drinking tea and eating all the yummy finger foods. The tea sandwiches were delicious, the rose macaron was amazing and the cute little passion fruit panna cotta was divine. It was a special day and I was so happy to have spent it with these special ladies.
