We’ve had a major heatwave the past few days which only means one thing… summer is well on it’s way here and it’s coming in HOT! While my impending wedding is taking up most of my time (and budget!) I want to make the most of the season (without spending a ton!) and rounded up some activities to keep me busy this summer.

Here’s what’s on my summer bucket list>>

My Summer Bucket List | A Good Hue

1. Plan a Stay-Cation

I’ve lived in the Los Angeles all my life and it’s amazing how much of the city I haven’t experienced. The Getty museum? Never been. Rodeo Drive? I’ve been through a part of it quickly. The Broad? Haven’t been there either! I want to visit some of LA’s best– museums, restaurants, Instagram spots, the whole she-bang…even if it’s just to say been there, done that.

2. Spend My Days at the Beach

Last year I think I went to the beach twice… and it’s less than an hour away. I definitely want to spend more time soaking up the sun with my toes digging into the sand. There’s nothing more relaxing than a day laying out at the beach with absolutely no agenda or things to do.

3. Read More

Which leads me into my next must– diving into a good beach read… or three. I have tons of books on my reading list and want to start making my way through them. My reading goal is 25 for the year and I’m currently at 14. I just finished An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks that was super riveting! Do you have any summer beach read recommendations?

4. Try New Summer Recipes

I feel like I’ve been in a dinner rut lately and making the same things over and over again. I want to try out some new tasty summer recipes from my The Newlywed Table cookbook. Plus, I put some new kitchen tools and gadgets on our wedding registry so I’m hoping to start trying those out!

5. Take in the Great Outdoors

I may seem super girly but I actually enjoy camping. I’d love to go on a weekend camping trip– maybe Big Sur, Mammoth or some other nearby area. Steve loves to fish so while he’s busy throwing out a line, I can get caught up on that reading list.

What’s on your summer bucket list?

A staycation is always a good idea in my opinion, especially if it’s near a beach and you can bring a book (which really encompasses like ALL your bucket list right there – aside from cooking something new) eheh!
