Colder winter weather often comes with the blahs, dry skin and, if you’re unfortunate like me, cold sores. Taking some time to step up your winter wellness game is a must to keep feeling great all winter long. I’m sharing my wellness tips and must-haves to help you beat the winter blues all season long. Keep reading for more!
But First, Skincare
Up until a few years ago I thought using a toner was just an unnecessary extra step when it came to skincare I am so glad to say I was WRONG! Using a toner has helped immensely with keeping my skin glowing, clear and clean. Humphreys® Witch Hazel Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Toners are quality toners made with wild crop certified organic witch hazel to hydrate and clean skin.
I have incorporated the Recharge with Grapefruit Toner in my morning skincare routine, applying to clean, dry skin. The toner helps to remove excess oil with grapefruit and keeps my skin clear with tea tree extract.
For my evening routine, I like to use the Soothe with Rose Toner with rosewater, which is great for calming the skin. This gentle toner also contains hyaluronic acid to help hydrate my skin all night long.
Treat Dry Lips
Truth time: I get cold sores and they can be especially worse during winter months when my lips are at their driest. Protecting my lips before, during and after a cold sore is especially important. Herpecin L works to treat and relieve cold sores and fever blisters with lysine along with nourishing vitamins B6 and E. The balm locks in moisture to hydrate chapped lips and contains SPF 30 to protect and reduce cold sore flare ups caused by the sun.
As a cold sore sufferer, I keep this handy in my purse to apply when my lips start feeling dry or when I get that telling tingle. It works super quick to hydrate and reduce the cold sore. Definitely a must in your winter wellness arsenal!
The Ultimate DIY Pedicure
During winter months my feet are in socks and boots, which often means I get super lazy about keeping up with my pedicures. Since I’ve been home more, DIY mani/pedis have been my winter wellness jam. I like to let my feet soak in a nice warm foot bath and use two products that are now MUSTS for my at-home pedicures.
The Kerasal Intensive Foot Repair is a lifesaver… okay, a foot saver at the very least. It is an exfoliating moisturizer that is intensely hydrating and softens heels and dry, cracked feet immediately. I’ve done foot soaks, scrubs, masks and the like and this has softened my feet like no other. It’s best to apply to feet (I concentrate on my heels) and then cover with a pair cotton socks. I highly recommend as this foot repair to loosen hard, dry skin to exfoliate & deeply moisturize heels.
The before/after below is just after one day of using the foot repair:
I am a habitual toe-stubber so my toe nails often have a white discoloring to them. The Kerasal Multi-Purpose Nail Repair helps to reduce nail discoloration while normalizing thickness, smoothing & hydrating nails. It can also be used if you have damage from gel manicures, psoriasis, aging nails or fungus damaged nails. So far I have been applying this to make my nails look more healthy-looking and can’t wait to see the results from longer term use.
You can shop these products at Target and Amazon!

Oooh you’re reminding me that I need to stock up on all the wellness goodies. I tend to always get colds this time of year and panic surrounding the pandemic doesn’t make it any easier. Tea and dry lip treatment are DEFINITELY being added to my list.
Definitely depends on the toner! It’s important that look for one that will help you with whatever you skin needs. I have been using one that did nothing to my skin haha so definitely looking for a replacement. So important to take care of our skin during the winter! Even our hands.
I agree, finding the right toner that works for your skin is so important. Luckily, there’s so many options out there and I’m glad I was able to try a couple different ones from this brand to figure out which worked best for my skin.
Winter wellness is so important! I up my water intake and moisturizing game in the winter so help. I’ll have to look into some of these products!
The toner look amazing! And wow! I can’t believe how well that foot repair worked! That’s so crazy!!
