Not only is this juice feature grapefruit, but it’s packed with a few other citrus favorites filled with vitamin C and antioxidants. Keep reading to get the recipe for this yummy immunity boost juice>>
Each ingredient in this immunity boost juice serves a purpose and pack a hefty punch of immune-boosting vitamins and benefits.
Oranges are known as the ‘vitamin c fruit’ as they have a high vitamin C content. They are water-rich as well and contain other key minerals and antioxidants. Not only are mandarins another excellent source of vitamin C, but they contain vitamin A as well. Blood oranges are super high in antioxidants and potassium along with vitamins A and C. The blood oranges also help to deepen this gorgeous pink color.
Grapefruits also have a hefty dose of vitamins A and C and other immunity-boosting micronutrients. However, if you are on certain medications that don’t react well with grapefruit, I recommend swapping out the grapefruit for an extra orange or blood orange (or both!).
Did you know that pineapple is extremely high in vitamin C as well? It’s also great for gut health and reducing bloat and are high in potassium.
I also added ginger to the juice as ginger has anti-inflammatory properties, can inhibit the growth of bacteria and aids in digestion as well. I recommend starting with an inch or two of fresh ginger root and increasing based on your tastes.
