There’s so much to love about winter– the colder temps, snow, the holidays– but it can also be super harsh. The winter season can wreak havoc on our bodies, mind and even the home. I’m sharing a few wellness tips and products to make sure you stay in tip-top shape all season long.

Wellness Skin Treatments
When it comes to wellness tips, one of my first is always to take care of your skin. Winter weather can be so harsh on skin, not to mention all the sweets and junk food we consume during the holiday season. This can take a toll on skin, but the OXY®Advanced Care™Maximum Strength Acne Cleanser with Prebiotics can help! This soothing acne cleanser balances and protects skin’s microbiome with a blend of benzoyl peroxide and plant-based, skin-rebalancing prebiotics. I like that this cleanser effectively targets acne and helps prevent future breakouts.
When those pimples pop up, treat them with OXY®Advanced Care™Maximum Strength Rapid Spot Treatment with Prebiotics. This treatment contains maximum-strength 10% benzoyl peroxide to visibly reduce redness within 4 hours. The prebiotics helps to keep skin balanced and clear.

Cold sores are the bane of my existence and if you suffer from them, I know you can relate! They are painful, so uncomfortable and like to appear at the worst times, especially during the winter season. One of my wellness tips is to use a protecting balm, such as Herpecin L Everyday Protection. This balm is specifically designed for cold sores, fever blisters and severely chapped lips. This balm is enriched with a natural complex of lysine, lemon balm, Vitamins C, B6 & E along with SPF 30 to protect lips. I keep this in my bag so I can take it with me on-the-go!
When I start to feel that tell-tale tingle of a cold sore starting, I know it’s time to start treatment. The Herpecin L Pain Relief Triple Action with Lidocaine, exclusively available at Walmart, provides maximum strength to target and treat cold sores and fever blisters. It works instantly to numb the pain, prevent an infection and prevent cracking (AKA the WORST!). If you suffer from cold sores, this is a must to keep on hand for when those pesky cold sores pop up.
Body Care is Essential Care
So Fresh and So Clean
When it comes to getting fresh and clean everywhere, Summer’s Eve Simply Sensitive Cleansing Wash is a must for my overall wellness routine! This intimate wash is pH-balanced and specifically developed for a woman’s sensitive external vaginal area and is safe for everyday use. This cleansing wash is hypoallergenic and is both gynecologist and dermatologist tested. I like that it’s gentle and leaves me feeling refreshed!
Scrub Up!
Tree Hut Sugar Plum Berries Shea Sugar Scrub not only smells divine but it exfoliates skin very well. Made with natural exfoliating sugar and moisturizing shea butter, this scrub removes dead skin to reveal gorgeous, glowing skin. It also contains natural oils such as evening primrose, avocado, macadamia, sweet almond, safflower and orange oils to nourish and hydrate skin.
Since my skin gets especially dry in the winter, applying a weekly body scrub as part of my wellness routine is a must. This one works really well and leaves my skin feeling smooth and moisturized. The Sugar Plum Berries has a sweet, wintery berry scent– it smells SO good! If berries aren’t your thing, Tree Hut offers a variety of scents including candy cane, lavender, tropical coconut and more.
Hydrate & Protect
After exfoliating, I like to moisturize my skin– both my face and my body. Dry winter weather means that my skin becomes super dry so having a really good moisturizing cream is important. The Flexitol Very Dry Skin Cream is a super rich moisturizing body cream that helps heal and moisturize extremely dry, itchy skin.
It’s made with nourishing ingredients like urea, glycolic acid, lanolin vitamin E, aloe vera & shea butter. It is intensely hydrating– I apply it before bed and I wake up with my skin feeling super smooth, soft and hydrated. It is not greasy and absorbs into skin well. It does have a slight scent, but is not off-putting. I think it works especially well on drier skin patches, such as the hands and elbows. I already know this is going to be a staple in my wellness routine this winter!
Cultivate the Home
When it comes to bringing wellness into the home, The Witchy Homestead by Nikki Van de Car from Running Press Books is your ultimate guide. It contains natural healing practices, wellness tips, insight to growing your own food, homesteading and more.
I love how this book delves into natural magic, there’s a section on crystals, plants and even recipes to mix up your own beauty treatments. Plus, I love all the illustrations throughout the book! It’s the perfect book for someone like me who is looking to incorporate more natural and holistic wellness tips into my life and home. I’m looking forward to getting cozy to read all this book has to offer.
