While heading to my parents’ for Thanksgiving, we drove past their neighbors’ ranch with these beautiful trees along their property. I ended up going back the following day and had a mini shoot in front of these trees… #worthit! I purchased this fall maxi dress (on sale under $15!) last year and while it’s not necessarily a “holiday dress”, the greens, bold orangey-reds and golden hues give me a festive vibe. It’s become one of my favorite maxi dresses to wear during the fall and winter seasons!

Thanksgiving was spent with family and delicious food! I take on the bulk of side duty which includes creamy mashed potatoes, a flavorful gravy (Ina Garten for the win!) and of course, my must-have sweet potato casserole. I try to prep as much as I can the day before as I love a low key holiday and being able to kick back and visit with the family.
We typically head to my parent’s house in the high desert for Thanksgiving each year. Even though we weren’t a large group, it was nice to visit, drink some wine and eat some good food.

Even though the air is colder and crisper, I still love wearing maxi dresses. For fall and winter, I opt for dresses with long sleeves for more coverage. I paired this one with my tall western boots and a bold red lip. For extra cold days, you can always add layers– a cozy sweater, cool moto jacket. I also like wearing thick, long socks underneath to keep my toes nice and toasty. If it’s not too windy, I also love adding a hat for an extra touch!
