What is Jupiter?
Jupiter is an at-home device combining skincare and medical technologies that provides LED light therapy skincare treatments. Designed by dermatologists and plastic surgeons, Jupiter essentially uses NIR (near infrared) technology and LED therapy to help skincare penetrate to deeper layers of the skin in order to be more effective helping to promote skin cell production and renewal.
Jupiter, which is FDA cleared, comes with a charging base and plug and features a single power button to turn on/off and switch modes. The packaging is a silver metallic plastic and does not feel as luxe as I would have expected. However, it does make the device ultra lightweight and easy to hold and maneuver around the face and neck. Spacetouch provides clear, easy-to-follow instructional videos on how to use the tool for best results. The only catch? It costs $7,200.
What are the benefits of LED light therapy?
Red Light
A popular treatment offered by facialists, medspas and dermatologists, red light therapy targets signs of aging, assisting in the reproduction and repair of skin cells to rejuvenate the skin. It works to reach skin’s deepest layers and may even help promote collagen production to increase skin elasticity and lessen signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles as well as loose skin. The red light is perfect to target my crows feet and forehead lines. While in red light mode, the skincare device does heat slighty but does not get so hot that it burns the skin.
Blue Light
While red light therapy helps to tighten and rejuvenate the skin, blue light therapy focuses on enhancing skin texture. As someone who experiences hormonal acne breakouts, blue light therapy is especially intriguing to me because it can help target acne by killing acne-causing bacteria, reducing enlarged oil glands, and diminish acne scarring. It has even been known to help treat sun damage and spots for a more even skin tone and texture. While in blue mode, Jupiter cools to help soothe skin.
Is Jupiter worth the price tag?
At $7,200, the Spacetouch Jupiter LED light therapy device does not come cheap. It is an investment in your overall skin health and may help to cut down on costly skincare treatments in the future. Or if you are a skin professional and looking to offer red and blue light therapy treatments, this would be a wonderful addition to your treatment arsenal. The device does come with a lifetime warranty to cover any manufacturer defects so be sure to register your device. With holiday season around the corner, it’s perfect to add to your gifts wish list!
I love that with this device I have access to LED light treatments in the comfort of my home. It is portable so I can sit back and watch Netflix while I use Jupiter. Once I have more experience with the device, I will add more details on how it performs long-term. Stay tuned!
